Description
Quantitative treatment of the central concepts and applications of theoretical ecology. Emphasis on the mathematical modeling of single populations and species interactions, and the integration of models with data. Topics include stochastic and deterministic processes of extinction; discrete- and continuous-time models of growth and population viability analysis relevant to small and harvested populations; numeric and analytical investigations of dynamics and stability; introduction to model-fitting in information theoretic framework using R and/or MATLAB.
